Biortica Agrimed Appoints Two Executives to C-Suite

Biortica Agrimed adds new Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer as company moves into new phase under leadership of CEO Thomas Varga.

Biortica Agrimed today announced the appointment of two new C-level executives as the company enters its next stage of growth. The executives include Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) Shane Duncan and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Kathleen Ward, who bring key industry experience to Biortica Agrimed and will play a pivotal role driving innovation, strategy and revenue growth as the company continues forward.

She will be working in conjunction with Ben Ellerton, Chief Horticultural Officer, and Dan Thibault, Chief Cannabis Officer. In Shane Duncan, I think it goes without saying what a great team member we now have within the business. Pharmaceutical, cannabis, consulting, supply chain and frankly an egoless attitude that focuses on the best outcome for our customers, partners, and the industry, even if that means Biortica, and Green Farmers or Apollo Green, are not the right solution. Shane as COO will be responsible for all operational activities across Biortica Agrimed and work closely with the roles of Ben, Chief Horticulture Officer, and Dan Chief Cannabis Officer. The Chief Strategy Officer role will focus on merger and acquisitions, leading cost improvement projects, reducing the companies environmental footprint and the launch of several new business initiatives focused on importation of medicinal cannabis as a service and development of a B2B brand management platform.

Shane Duncan, Chief Strategy Officer

Shane Duncan is a commercial operations and strategy executive with has over 30 years experience across Australia and the United States. Shane Joins Biortica Agrimed as the Chief Strategy Officer, leading commercial excellence, and brings a wealth of experience in the start-up and early-stage business space.

Previously, Shane served as the Chief Operating Officer at Cann Group and has spent the past 12 months as an independent consultant working on various projects in and outside the cannabis industry.

Kathleen Ward, Chief Operations Officer

Kathleen Ward is an operations and finance executive, specialising in operational excellence through business partnerships, value creation and direct experience in leading and developing high performing teams. Kathleen moves from General Manager Green Farmers A Biortica Agrimed Company to Chief Operations Officer, overseeing the delivery of outcomes for customers and the business.

Previously, Kathleen served as a senior level executive at Crowe Horwath, with a focus on business advisory.
